Collaborations

The PPA project seeks to improve the quality of information about political parties that is available to citizens, policy makers and the academic community. We do this by collecting data, developing online resources, providing analysis, and partnering with organisations and researchers around the world. Information on our current collaborations can be found below.

Current Collaborations

The Democratic Accountability and Linkages Project (DALP) at Duke University conducts expert surveys around the world to study leadership accountability in multi-party elections. For the second round of data collection (DALP II), the PPA has partnered with DALP to conduct these surveys across Africa.

The Political Party Database Project (PPDB) is a cross-national initiative to establish and update an online public database as a source for key information about political party organizations. For the second and third rounds of data collection the PPA has partnered with the PPDB to collect data on party organization in Africa.

Afrobarometer is a pan-African, non-partisan survey research network that conducts public attitudes surveys on democracy, governance, the economy, and society. The PPA works with members of the Afrobarometer team to facilitate the inclusion of questions around parties and party activity into their surveys. We also support and facilitate the use of their data in analyses of party activity across the continent.
